132nd General Assembly of Delegates

The day began with the 132nd General Assembly, where International delegates held their opening Congress. Delegates from member nations worldwide travelled from as far field as New Zealand, Brazil, China and the USA as well as from throughout Europe to attend the event.

Original Music Award

Four compositions were presented for consideration for inclusion in the CIA Composers Portfolio. The pieces were presented as live performances and video presentations. The audience including Jury members, contestants and guests voted via ballots at the conclusion of the concert. The four compositions presented were:
 

  • The Mirror by Heikki Jokiaho (Finland)
  • Tenderness by Elizabeta Ilievska (Macedonia)
  • Zheng Zai by Gorka Hermosa (Spain)
  • The Wasteland by Drazan Kosoric (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Draw for Playing Order
Following the performances of the works to be considered for the CIA Composition portfolio, more than 150 candidates gathered to take part in the draw for playing order.

Opening Concert
The 67th Coupe Mondiale opened with a gala Concert which also marked the beginning of a weeklong celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Austrian Accordion Association.

Coupe Mondiale reunion. The last time the Coupe Mondiale was held in Salzburg was in 1970. Some of the participants at that time were also in attendance at today's Coupe Mondiale including Sylvia Zobek, Oleg Sharov, Gertrude Kisser and composer Felix Lee who had composed that year's Test Piece.
