Stephanie
Panzic is 18 years of age and has been learning the accordion
since she was 4½ years old. Her first teacher was Fay
Schaw and now learns from Stephanie Poole. She is a regular
competitor in the NZAA (NZ
Accordion Assoc. Inc.) Championships and has had many successes
over the years including winning the 12 years & under, 15
years & under NZ & South Pacific Solo Championship classes
and in 2008, she won the title, NZ Junior Virtuoso Accordion Champion.
In 2007, Stephanie travelled to Washington DC with the North Shore
Accordion Orchestra where she gained several first places in the
AAA/ATG competitions (AAA
- American Accordionists Association, ATG
- Accordionists & Teachers Guild International) as well
as competing in the Junior Coupe Mondiale competition. On leaving
Orewa College last year, she gained the Drama Prize and was awarded
the Performer of the Year.
Stephanie is currently in her first year at Auckland University
studying Law & Science. In her spare time, she sings with
the Greater Auckland Chorus, plays in the North Shore Accordion
Orchestra and is preparing to compete in the Coupe Mondiale in
August 2009. She recently gained her ATCL on flute and the Gold
Duke of Edinburgh Award. Presentation
