| In 1980, the New Zealand Accordion Association hosted
the Coupe Mondiale in Auckland City and we ran a very superb event, that
Jaques Mornet has been quoted "1980 was a Coupe Mondiale to
set the standard for all future Coupe Mondiales". Other prominent accordion personalities like Faithe Deffner, Joan Sommers, Walter Maurer, Art Van Damme, Alfred Melichar, Herbert Schiebenrief, Lech Puchnowski, Wolfgang Eschenbacher, Werner Glutsch, Alain Musichini, Peter Soave, Sam Falcetti, were participating and I am sure, will also speak highly of the 1980 Coupe Mondiale organization.
We
are very proud to have booked the world class Bruce Mason Theatre and
concert complex with many features including:- A main auditorium with wonderful acoustics seating 1,000 people; yet a solo accordion sounds live and is easily heard; - Has a large stage able to handle 130 players plus (three orchestras can set-up on the stage at once for easy concert organization); -
Ideal for significant orchestra participation for the Coupe Mondiale event.- excellent bars and restaurants beside the theatre complex - beautiful Takapuna beach is a 1 minute walk; - additional venue pictures The
Coupe Mondiale 2009 is a great opportunity to extend your stay and make
a holiday in New Zealand, one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
You only need to see a clip of any of the films "Lord of the Rings"
or "The Last Samurai" to appreciate the natural spectacle which
is New Zealand and wish to travel here. The 2009 Coupe Mondiale will be
your perfect excuse and opportunity to have the holiday of a life time.John Statham President New Zealand Accordion Association |
