Coupe Mondiale, Round II

The top 10 contestants from Round II passed through to the second round of the 59th Coupe Mondiale competition. They were each required to perform one complete original work for accordion.

International Competition for Piano Accordion

10 Contestants performed in the 2006 International Competition for Piano Accordion. Each contestant was required to perform an own choice program consisting of three (3) or more pieces of different styles, character and composers. Competitors must present themselves as artists to an audience; presentation, dress and stage-craft all being important. Playing time: minimum 15 minutes to maximum 20 minutes.

Junior Virtuoso Entertainment Competition

14 Contestants were present to compete in the Junior Virtuoso Competition for Entertainment Music. The competition is divided into two rounds. Round I required each contestant to perform an own choice program consisting of at least two (2) pieces of different styles and moods with a playing of 7 minutes maximum.
